EPSONA 2017
EPOSNA Meeting in Bercelona
3-6 May 2017
The European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS) and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA) organized a combined meeting, EPOSNA, on May 3-6, 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. This is the first time these two societies jointly organised a combine meeting in Europe. Many participants from all over the globe took this opportunity to update their knowledge and share their experience.
Asia Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (APPOS) and Society of Latin American Orthopaedic and Traumatology for Children (SLAOTI) were invited to participate in this event. On 5th May 2017, APPOS organised a scientific symposium on complex lower limb deformities. The session was rather well attended with some participants interested to know more about Paediatric Orthopaedic activities in the Asia Pacific region (Figure).

This combined meeting allowed board members of APPOS to meet with Paediatric Orthopaedic societies from other parts of the world. We were also given the opportunity to advertise our APSS APPOS combined meeting in Goa, India by putting up a poster in the main lobby of the convention centre. Following a few discussions, we are happy to announce that International Federation of Paediatric Orthopaedic Societies (IFPOS) will also participate in our meeting in Goa. We hope that during this meeting, we managed to convince more people to attend the combined meeting in Goa.
Barcelona is the largest city on the Mediterranean coast that is rich with history and culture. Most of the participants would take this opportunity to explore the city and visit areas of interest especially the art works of Picasso and buildings of Gaudi. We would like to encourage the members of APPOS to more actively participate in international meetings of this nature and share our knowledge and experience from the Asia Pacific region with the rest of the world.
